I just switched from IPS237L-BN (1920×1080) to new Dell P2416D (2560x1440) monitors in a dual setup. And I have the following problem. I get a a message on my monitors stating:"The current input timing is not supported by the monitor. Please change your input timing to 2560×1440, 60Hz or any other monitor listed timing as per the monitor specifications." Effectively I don't see my boot/bios screen or any tty's. So the xorg issue with the pointer disappearing has been solved and that is absolutely great!However, I still seem to have a problem with light locker. After suspend, locking the screen or logging out, I see my wallpaper for a second or so, then there is a glitch and tus to the default light blue background. How do you know it's not working, which IP are you trying to access?In VBox, in the VM network settings, did you leave the default NAT option or you set it to bridged?If you use NAT the VM is behind that NAT and it's not easy to access it from your home LAN. Hi. I've got an 11 year old Dell Optiplex GX520 that I'm ruing Xubuntu 16.04 on. I couldn't run a .mov file on it, and I also noticed I couldn't use Openshot Video Editor. I tried playing the .mov in Parole, VLC and Videos. It seemed to do the best in Videos but was still a mess. (The audio seemed okay though.) The symptoms: the video would freeze, there would be a green screen that would take over and noticeable pixelation of a large part of the screen often occurred. If you "upgraded" without removing the proprietary driver (assuming you had fglrx installed) rather than doing a fresh installation, you may very well have problems related to that.fglrx does not work with Xenial. It is not even included as an option.
