You really should give more info from the start...
1. How do you know it's not working, which IP are you trying to access?
In VBox, in the VM network settings, did you leave the default NAT option or you set it to bridged?
If you use NAT the VM is behind that NAT and it's not easy to access it from your home LAN. That's why I always use bridged and assign static IP from the home LAN subnet to VMs, and they can easily be accessed from any machine in the home network.
