Hi! I use Ubuntu 16.04 (Unity) on my Dell Inspiron-20-Model-3043 (touch screen).My problem is that the lock screen (ctrl + alt + L) changed to the old style like the one in Ubuntu 10.10, and I don't know why exactly, I don't remember have done anything in particular.maybe it changed after the installation of Unity 8 mir but I didn't notice it until 3 days later so I'm not sure. I booted into ubuntu 14.04, which I was happy with, and it prompted me to upgrade to 16.04. It was late and I didn't read everything properly, and in the process it updated some items like phpmyadmin, php, and mysql that I had installed for a local development web server. Unfortunately, that's caused major issues & now nothing works. I don't want to run newer versions as I know the web application I was using locally doesn't work on newer versions. I have already looked into the system preferences and it dosen't list the native resolution of 1280x1024 that my second monitor has. I have started getting messages like these for a couple of applications lately. The first one I noticed was Deja-Dup when it quit working. I get the error BackendException: Could not initialize backend: No module named repository I googled and found a few references to other problems where the module name was gi.repository, and to resolve it I should install python-gi. So when you change to a different theme you're supposed to see something different, right?I don't. I installed this flattastic theme and moved it to themes folder, then selected it like on the screenshot but as you can nothing changed. Good day Ubuntu family, I was trying to do a sudo apt-get upgrade yesterday on my system, and the upgrade wasninterrupted and I had to restart my system, upon restarting I was unable to boot into Ubuntu again. So I switched over to console from the blank screen and resumed the upgrade, when the upgrade was completed I then restarted my pc with hope that it should be back to live, to my surprise in grub load I saw Kali Linux keel.
