I have a USB drive at work that's specified in fstab (although the pathname says RAID it's not an array, just a single USB drive of 2 Tb). In 14.04, when I booted the computer without the drive coected, I would get an option during boot to skip that and then it would boot just fine. In 16.04 however, it boots into emergency mode instead. I can get around this by booting in startup mode but it's really aoying. How can I get around this? My fstab entry for the drive looks like this: Code: #USB drive UUID=1ade5a24-10bf-4010-aa99-75fb16d4ce32 /home/user_id/RAID ext4 rw,user 0 0 Let's block ads! بخوانید...

The range is about 4,000 to 14,000 files in HOME folder virus scaed. What I mean 9,000 then 12,000 then 6,000 then 4,000 then 14,000 then 14,000 then 5,000 and so onThat is highly unlogical, is nondeterministic, I don't see the point why it should be a nondeterministic scan algorithm Let's block ads! بخوانید...

Hi Guys,I just (clean-) installed 16.04 on my desktop (as well as notebook) and encounter a weird behavior.Whenever I mount anything (e.g., an exteal memory stick or a truecrypt-drive), ubuntu does not open nautilus and display the content, as one would expect, but it opens "SmartSVN", which happens to be my SVN-GUI (http://www.smartsvn.com/). It does this on both my clean 16.04 installations. SmartSVN, can, of course, do nothing with the mounted file and just displays an error. I then have to close it, open the file explorer/nautilus and click there on my mounted drive, which I can then access without problems.I tried to google, but can't find how to fix this... As a workaround, i used the ...

Hello!I'm trying to fix my broken NAS and I've gotten to this point:- the hdd is hooked up in my pc, which boots up thrugh usb- the disk shows up with fdisk -l- I am unable to mount the disk due to a bad superblock.Fixing the superblock isn't my main priority atm, my first objective is to retrieve essential data. I have 32 gb of storage on a second flashdrive, not enough for a full image (which would consume around 1,5tb).My question: is there any way to navigate to key folders, backup their contents, without actually mounting? Thanks!
