I have a 64BIT OpenSuSE server I'm looking to migrate over to Ubuntu.Dell 7500 Workstation with Intel E5 Xeon processor64GB of RAM and 20TB of dataMySQL database to migrate over with it.First off before going any further, I noticed the only architecture for 64bit is AMD 64, so does this mean having a Dell server based on Intel, I'm dead in the water as is? If so I can just go towards SME Server, but I would rather try Ubuntu as it's a bit unique on it's own/to try something different.Or is there something unique about the 32bit version that will allow it to use the full 64GB of RAM? This is a domain controller that will also virtualize multiple other servers and other functions. Basically a ...

Whenever I try to open OBS studio, I get "Failed to initialize video: Unspecified error". I'm ruing Ubuntu 16.04 on my Lenovo Thinkpad T410 with Intel Ironlake Mobile graphics. I've never used OBS studio before, this is my first time. Apparently this was an issue before, but has possibly come up again. Here is a screen shot of the error. I couldn't upload it as an attatchment for another unknown reason. Here is the full log when launched from the command line: Code: Attempted path: share/obs/obs-studio/locale/en-US.ini Attempted path: /usr/share/obs/obs-studio/locale/en-US.ini Attempted path: share/obs/obs-studio/locale.ini Attempted path: /usr/share/obs/obs-studio/locale.ini Attempted path...

Hi everyone, I have begun to have an issue with Nautilus after upgrading to 16.04. If I use Nautilus to access my exteal hard drive, maximise another window, and try to retu to Nautilus by clicking on its icon, the little flag thing that indicates that there is an instance of a program ruing will disappear and it will open another Nautilus window instead of retuing to the original window. This only occurs if I am accessing files on my exteal hard drive, if I access files on the inteal hard drive, this does not occur. Is there a way of fixing this? Let's block ads! بخوانید...

So, ever since I did sudo apt-get upgrade, my laptop has been screwed up. The clock is just white rectangles, all the stuff on my desktop vanished, I can't open Nautilus (file manager), and terminal isn't working. It just won't open, it'll load, but won't open. If I do something like lets say, upload an image on imgur, I can still view all my files, I just can't change them. Please help me! Let's block ads! بخوانید...

I've got an openvpn server that has been working fine with Windows and Android clients. I recently deployed a new linux server and I'm trying to coect it to the same VPN, however it isn't working. The coection is established and it looks like the right responses are being sent to the client, but the tap1 interface is never configured. Both client and server are Ubuntu 15.10. Syslog and config file below - any help appreciated. This is what gets dumped in the client's syslog: Code: Aug 3 10:28:28 kesh systemd[1]: Starting OpenVPN service... Hi Guys,I just (clean-) installed 16.04 on my desktop (as well as notebook) and encounter a weird behavior.Whenever I mount anything (e.g., an exteal memory stick or a truecrypt-drive), ubuntu does not open nautilus and display the content, as one would expect, but it opens "SmartSVN", which happens to be my SVN-GUI (http://www.smartsvn.com/). It does this on both my clean 16.04 installations. SmartSVN, can, of course, do nothing with the mounted file and just displays an error. I then have to close it, open the file explorer/nautilus and click there on my mounted drive, which I can then access without problems.I tried to google, but can't find how to fix this... As a workaround, i used the ...

I'm trying to set up my laptop as an bridged OpenVPN (TAP) client for my home network. To register myself to my home network for DNS reasons I need the client to work as an DHCP client. For IPv6 I need router advertisements to work to statelessly set-up IPv6 adresses. However the NetworkManager applet does not allow me to enable ruing a DHCP client nor does it allow me to allow router advertisements.Ruing dhclient from commandline works, however due to the coection being managed by networkmanager the settings are overridden immediately. The same goes for accepting router advertisements: /proc/sys/net/ipv6/conf/tap0/accept_ra is immediately reset to 1 where (according to a guide I read) it shou...

Hi guys,I am looking for some advice for if it is possible to coect to 3G/4G networks using open-source software and firmware to prevent the risk of backdoors etc?I have looked at USB dongles but am not entirely sure if they can be run freely. Am I correct in assuming that 3G dongles contain a separate OS that you coect to through a sort of USB to Etheet adapter, kind of like a mini router? If so has anyone free'd this option up with the likes of open-wrt etc? If not is there a way to run dongles without the use of the inteal firmware and just the use of Linux modules?WWAN cards seem like another option to consider. Are they essentially the same thing as a USB dongle or do they operate kind ...

Hey all..i have been trying to enforce firewall policies for openvpn clients but so far i am not able to achieve anythingThis is how all my set up looks like:my open vpn server is 10.8.0.1 while my client is 10.8.0.6 and i am routing the client's traffic through openvpn server(i followed this https://help.ubuntu.com/lts/serverguide/openvpn.html ).Both of them are fully functional and if i do traceroute for some website on the client so the first ip it shows is of the vpn server that is 10.8.0.1.it forwards the traffic from tun0 to eth0 and invovles a bit of masquerading. Now what i am trying to achieve is to block let say A.B.C.D on client but i want all these rules to be enforced on the open...
