If you look near the top of every page, there is a link that says, “Please read before SSO login” which leads to this sticky – the SSO registration guide. I have to assume you didn’t (read it, that is) because it tells you about using the correct email in Ubuntu One. You used a different email in Ubuntu One from the one you used to create the andalou account. The sticky also tells you about why and when useames are appended with a number. Not finding a match for the email, and with a pre-existing andalou account, the system created andalou2.We can help you get back to the andalou account, but please read this sticky first: https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2164369 Let's block ads! بخ...

I have started getting messages like these for a couple of applications lately. The first one I noticed was Deja-Dup when it quit working. I get the error BackendException: Could not initialize backend: No module named repository I googled and found a few references to other problems where the module name was gi.repository, and to resolve it I should install python-gi. My error just says repository, and python-gi and python3-gi are already installed anyway.Today, I noticed that software center would not start. When starting it from a terminal I see this: twoblues@Stealth:~$ /usr/bin/software-centerTraceback (most recent call last):File "/usr/bin/software-center", line 25, in from g...

Hi,I try to get the names associated with a reference number (variable $LEP_ref hereunder) from a table (Artenliste) to add it to my table TL_dissections. I wrote the following script, but apparently it is not possible to cat another file when doing a while loop. Would someone have the solution? Here is the script:cat TL_dissections | while read line; do LEP_ref=$(cut -f 7);species_name=$(cat Artenliste | grep $LEP_ref | cut -f 2,3);echo -e "$LEP_ref t $species_name"; doneThank you for your help!ThéoLet's block ads! بخوانید...

Hi,I've been working on a bash script that renames photos based on their date taken for easier sorting. It's useful if you want to combine photos of multiple devices and go through them in a slideshow chronologically instead of first photos of person X and then the photos of person Y. It puts the videos on correct place as well (based on changed date of the file).Use at your own convenience. It should not destroy anything because if it would overwrite a file (what should already be impossible), it will still ask for confirmation. Code: #!/bin/bash # By Ferux, 26 June 2016. # Script for renaming photos and videos based on their date. # Useful for watching slideshows with the videos at the mo...
