Hello everyone,I was trying to install Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS on a Lenovo ThinkPad laptop (2GB RAM, 2.3 GHz processor). I already have Windows installed with an un-allocated space of 258 GB after the Windows C: drive. During installation, I just used a part of the free space (around 120 GB) and partitioned it into three halves:- 2 GB for swap- 100 GB for /home and- 18 GB for /During installation, I got notified that the swap partition could not be created and the installation aborted. I think you are misunderstanding me. I didn't mess with filesystem types or anything really. I used start up disk creator and put Kubuntu 16.10 on my flash drive, just to see what it was about. After testing it out, I logged back into Ubuntu and I needed to move a ton of files via my flash drive to a different computer, so I just did the right click - format and used the default settings to erase the Kubuntu stuff. Hi,I just bought a MyPassport 3TB and removed the Nfts partition with Gparted, then made a new one with ext4. But to my surprise Gparted shows the new partition with 44GB already in use. Is this normal?And when I right click on the disk and look at the properties, it gets even worse. The pie chart shows 150GB in use.Is this normal or did I do something wrong? Greetings,I have an audio device that ALSA interprets as only accepting a 32-bit little-endian data format. And I would like to play "normal" 16-bit music to that device. To add one extra wrinkle: I am fairly certain this device is a 24-bit audio device. It's the miniDSP usbstreamer B unit, and the product webpage describes it as 24-bit (with 32-bit inteal processor).Is there a quick and effective way to convert the music on-the-fly, i.e. like when I call mplayer on the audio file? Hello all,I frequently am travelling between Korea and Japan and often configure my computer to match where I am for however long I am there. I have a fresh install of 16.04 64 bit here and installed language support for both Korean and Japanese. The problem seems to be that there is Japanese language for windows and menus, and regional formats, but Korean is missing from both of these. Is there any way I could get this working?
