HiHow about FW not working in a studio box. After many years of using Ubuntu I find I caot use a Saffire pro26 as I get a Dbus error coecting, this means I have no FFADO mixer, so no recording system. To make it worse I researched the hardware and software before buying the saffire, said to be fully supported!I also bought a FW card supported by FFado. It seems all the info is years out of date. Please advise how you multi track in Linux now.I caot use the saffire adats with my RME card as I caot set the unit to use adat. Are you all using USB?I used two DDX 3216 on adat for years but they are now gone after giving years of good service.Totally lost on this at the moment. For you who may understand...

But it didn't work with me.When I type acpi in the terminal, then I get:No support for device type: power_supplyBut acpi is installed: #acpi -v gives meacpi 1.7Somewhere else a similar problem was called rather a problem of upower (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+s...r/+bug/1606159). But as far as I can see there was no solution offered. I have Upower client version 0.99.04Has anybody an idea how to solve this? Any help is welcome!Cheersbadcomputerk...

I have an AOC monitor, and an ASUS STRIX 1070.I create the bootable usb stick in win10, reboot, and when I press "Install Ubuntu" then it just goes black screen with a floating "input not supported". I had ubuntu before (before having the VGA), same version (16.04), and everything worked just fine. What can I do? ادامه مطلبAs Gnome is a desktop environment, I imagine a vanilla Ubuntu with the Gnome DE installed would be supported for five years. Ubuntu Gnome, on the other hand, is supported for three years, like Xubuntu and Lubuntu, and probably others. For a Kodi/Plex server, though, I wouldn't bother with Ubuntu. I'd go for a Ubuntu minimal install and add a desktop and Kodi or install Xubuntu-core and do the same. You could just install the server ISO and Gnome DE. You don't need 80% of what you'll get with Ubuntu for a media server (including the Unity desktop environment). Here's a link for Xubuntu-core. Get the ISO from the community ISO link down the page some. For Ubuntu minimal, just do a search for tha...

So you're saying you have 15.10 installed and you can't get coected to the inteet or you are yet to install and just curious? If the latter, you want to be looking at 16.04 LTS and forget about 15.10. That has about a month and a half of support left at which time you'll need to upgrade to 16.04 LTS anyway. LTS is a long-term support and 16.04 LTS is supported for five years until 2021.16.04 also has drivers for newer hardware and is the way to go if you are ruing newer hardware. Does this apply to you? Either way, many Broadcom devices work out of the box or with little effort now in Ubuntu. A few, on the other hand, don't. Have you done any res...

Can someone please guide me through the reasons as to why this screen tearing may be occurring? For reference it will not boot without the two boot parameters "idle=nomwait" and "nomodeset" after I install the Nvidia drivers I no longer need "nomodeset" to boot but the screen tearing still occurs. Let me know what commands you need so I can please solve this issue. The cpu is Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700HQ CPU @ 2.60GHz. I do not even care about the Nvidia card I just w...
