It gets so far as the 5/6 dots to show it is progressing through boot, but no further. What I have tried already is below:When attempting to run in fail safe graphics mode (from 4.4.0-34-generic (recovery mode) and 4.2.0-42-generic (recovery mode)) I receive the following error: Code: The system is ruing in low-graphics mode Your screen, graphics card, and input device settings could not be detected correctly. You will need to configure these yourself. If I select the radio button for try ruing with default graphical mode the black cross cursor appears in the foreground but...
ادامه مطلبHello,I updated my Ubuntu 14.04 to 16.04 LTS, and I have since had some issues with my exteal monitor. As I move my cursor to my second monitor I often get screen flicker, a brief black flash, it also flickers on my primary laptop screen when I do this. The flicker is relatively inconsistent, it happens more often than not though. Most frustratingly of all is that quite often my exteal monitor will go fully black and I will need to click on that screen or move the cursor to it to see the screen properly again. I had none of these problems with Ubuntu 14.04 and I now regret upgrading. I have looked at rollback options but I would much rather avoid this. Has anyone else experiences this? is it...

ادامه مطلبAs in the title. I had ubuntu installed on this machine before and did not run into any trouble, but having windows 10 installed in between seems to have caused the trouble. The screen is black as in black is being displayed, rather than no signal coming through the cable, given that the light on the monitor didn't tu orange. So far I've tried flashing the bios to the latest version and reseting the CMOS, both by bridging the pins and by removing the battery, but nothing. Also setting 'splash quiet' to 'nomodeset' doesn't seem to help either. And there is no secure boot option in the bios settings. ( Gigabyte F2A55M-HD2 Rev. 1) Let's block ads! بخوانید...
ادامه مطلبAn NVIDIA keel module 'nvidia' appears to already be loaded in yourkeel. This may be because it is in use (for example, by an Xserver, a CUDA program, or the NVIDIA Persistence Daemon), but thismay also happen if your keel was configured without support formodule unloading. Please be sure to exit any programs that may beusing the GPU(s) before attempting to upgrade your driver. If noGPU-based programs are ruing, you know that your keel supportsmodule unloading, and you still receive this message, then an errormay have occured that has corrupted an NVIDIA keel module's usagecount, for which the simplest remedy is to reboot your computer.Let's block ads! بخوانید...

ادامه مطلبHi, hope someone can help.I've a old Rock x770 laptop (clevo M57RU) with nvidia GTX7950go graphics card, intel core2duo 2.4Ghz.I've been ruing xubunutu 14:04 with the Nvidia 304 drivers since it came out, with no issues. Recently I I suddenly started seeing vertical rows of white dots on the BIOS screen and it would boot to a black screen. Going to tty terminal and looking at the X logs I see Xserver is crashing with "(EE) Caught signal 11 (Segmentation fault). Server aborting" .I can get it to work using nomodeset in grub boot line, and using the Nouveau drivers, but only at a low res 1280 x 1024 (native res is 1920x1200), as soon as I switch to nvidia drivers from the Additional Drivers ap...

Unfortunately the only solution in those cases is to hold the power button to shut down, then try again. I'd rather not be doing that kind of shut down. And anyway it's a problem.I've been searching and found a tip that suggested putting a delay in /etc/init/lightdm.conf. I added a delay of 3 seconds and that seemed to fix it for a few days, but now the problem is back.Any advice would be most appreciated. Including advice on even where to look. Thanks much in advance!!Ubuntu Studio 16.4 xenial 64 bit. The computer is a bi...

ادامه مطلبSo I saw a few posts about this, but they were from 14.04 and older. I just added a new hard drive, installed 16.04 and pulled my 14.04 drive out to put on backup. I had previously used x11vnc quite a bit. I'd SSH into the computer, tu on x11vnc, then use a vnc client to access the desktop. I just installed x11vnc and when I open up my coection, I get coected to the computer, but it's an all black screen, no actual desktop content.I'm willing to try another vnc server, but I recall using tightvnc previously and it only extended the desktops, I want to always show display 0.Ideas? ادامه مطلبHi all,I'm getting an instant black screen and no sign of further life immediately after Grub.I installed Ubuntu Server 14.04 onto a Samsung 840 SSD with LVM and everything seemed to be fine. I set up my 4 2tb drives as a mdadm RAID array with LVM on top. I installed Kodi. I left the machine on for a few days while the RAID was set up and then copied my files on to it. Everything seemed fine. Then I try to reboot it. I get to the Grub screen. I choose "Ubuntu". Instant black screen with no further response. No response on ping or ssh either, no matter how long I wait.Ctrl+Alt+Del reboots the system. I choose "Ubuntu (recovery mode)" and I get the following messages (Which may be a red herring...
