[xubuntu] initramfs - the root filesystem on /dev/sda1 requires manual fsck (ATA bus error)

Hello, this is my first time using linux and I am ruing a xubunto. I read how to do things and got xubunto ruing good yesterday.
Today I noticed all icons on desktop had a lock symbol and searched on web figuring out it would have something to do with permissions.

I followed some posts saying I should use

sudo chown -R $USER: $HOME" and "sudo chmod 777 -R /path to folder

Again I searched on web how to fix it and ended up using commands like "sudo fsck /dev/sd1" etc. but in all my attempts to fix it in the end I get a message saying:

/dev/sda1: ***** FILE SYSTEM WAS MODIFIED *****
/dev/sda1: 171285/15007744 files (0.1% non-contiguous), 1910197/60001024 blocks

..."failed command:WRITE DMA" ... "Emask 0x10 (ATA bus error)"
