anyway to use CanoScan LiDE 110 on wine?

I'm experiencing problems with my CanoScan LiDE 110 on Xubuntu 16.04, I've tested my scaer on Live CDs of both 14.04 and 16.04 on VirtualBox, my scaer works on 14.04, but doesn't work on 16.04.

These links discusses the same problems, plus some bug reports from Launchpad, but the bug reports seems to have been abandoned.

Is there any scaing software that I can run on wine? I'd like to avoid ruing VirtualBox if I can.
