Hey guys, here again with another issue.
I have a Ubuntu 16.04 ruing on a vps with 1GB of RAM. It has the basic LAMP stack and is hosing WordPress.
The issue I'm having is that the MySQL daemon (mysqld) is eating my memory alive. After a clean boot, I would have about 300-350 MB remaining. Also available memory would drop by about 4 -20 MB with each page request. Then, when I kill mysqld, my RAM would jump from about 1-3MB (not a typo) to 700MB of available memory. Eventually so much memory get's used that I can't ssh into it, run "free -m -h", top, or even run a basic command from the web console (courtesy of the hoster). Eventually the server would start giving out 500 errors.
Here is my mysqld.conf if it helps. I followed this tutorial to try and get a little extra memory out of it, but that obviously didn't help. Also I am not using swap because the vps is using an SSD, which is discouraged in this article.
