Hi, I just made the above mentioned update.
This requires a restart and I got so used to switch off GPS after this, that it came as a surprise to me that the switch was now gone from the Battery System Setting.
It seems that this was considered an inconsistency ( https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+s...s/+bug/1520580 ) and I remember that it looked strange to me the first time, too.
Now I do not find a specific GPS switch so I guess that you now switch it on/off via switching on and off location detection. Is this assumption correct? I see that this bug is considered fixed, but I haven't found info on how it is "solved", despite the obvious.

I had the impression that before the update I could actually get a location via Wifi and/or the carrier, but GPS switched off. (I mean that e.g. the whether scope got the more or less correct place with GPS and even Wifi actually switched off) Is this now impossible?
Battery wise it would be a shame if location-on automatically would mean GPS on.

Does anyone have insights on this?

Cheers
