What phone/tablet to buy for Ubuntu Touch 2016

Hey guys long time user of Ubuntu desktop, recently I have decided to go the mobile I was wondering a few things.

1: Is Ubuntu touch stable enough for use as a daily phone?

2: I might get a nexus 4 because I read its pretty compatible however the phone is a bit dated and I was wondering if you guys thought it would hold up in 2016

3: if I wanted a tablet experience is the nexus 7 my old option? I see the BQ store is sold out of anything worth my time and they want to charge me euro tax (20%) on my USD purchase.

Please if anybody has experience with Ubuntu Touch I would like to know if there is anything I should look out for.
