Hi,
I'm from Germany. I installed a friend of mine Lubuntu on his laptop and with the latest upgrade the whole system stopped working. He is visiting Princeton from abroad and has absolutely no idea about computers and is totally struck. All his work idling. The Princeton library told him that I should send a copy of this operating system to him with instructions on how to upgrade. That's a joke. The local Linux user group doesn't answer emails and I can't help without seeing what's going on. Is there someone he can see in person to fix this issue?
I think the upgrade process was terminated due to not enough disk space. Must be too many documents or whatever. There should be enough disk space available. So I guess it's a matter of recovery booting, removing some files and fixing the upgrade to get the laptop working again. Could someone help?
