Ubuntu 16.04 LTS Installation Stuck

I got a new HP laptop and decided to install Ubuntu on it along side Windows 10. All seemed to be found well until I hit the screen that asks "Where are you."

I would say it's frozen, but the mouse cursor moves just fine. If I plug and unplug the Etheet cable a little box comes up and I can mouse over it subs out blurs.

The place where I select my area is totally unresponsive, and neither typing nor clicking does a thing. The icons at the top don't do anything when moused over or clicked.

It's a middle range laptop with an i5 CPU, there's nothing inside that should be causing problems.
