It's Ubuntu time: some gamer questions

Hi all
Today my old laptop crashed. I am able only to use the Ubuntu partition so I guess it's time to go 100% ubuntu.

I have though two doubts:

1. I am a gamer. I want to keep a partition for windows games. Does it means I will have to use wubi? Or there is a possibility to install Windows inside ubuntu somehow?

2. Is there out there a guide on what laptop to buy that is ubuntu friendly? I don't want to spend my money and then have a surprise!
