[ubuntu] Ubuntu won't coect automatically to WiFi without logging in

I've been searching the web for hours on this, and there seems that there's no solid fix.

If I reboot my system after logging in to it, my WiFi won't automatically coect, which makes making my system a headless SSH server a little difficult. Once I log in to it however, the system automatically coects to my WiFi and all is good.

What I'm wondering is, is there a way to have Ubuntu 16.04 automatically coect to my WiFi without having to manually log in to the system? If I try to click on the wireless icon at the log in screen, I get a screen saying "Failed to add/activate coection".
