All,

I am working with Ubuntu 14.04 and have installed lubuntu, for gui purposes. I have just bought a hard drive enclosure, that uses 4 hard drives. When i login to lubuntu, and go to "disks" i see that the drives are all there sbd, sdc, sdd, sde. I am trying to format the drives as ext4, but don't even know how to get started. I read some places that i should use fdisk /dev/sdb then choose "n", and go from there. I am very new to formating new hard drives, so i have no idea what this is doing. I also read that i should use mkfs.ext4 /dev/sdb. My issues are that when i format the disk, using fdisk, the "disks" program says partitioning - GUID Partition Table, but the contents says unallocated space. When i use the mkfs, it does not have a partitioning section, and says contents is Ext4. Can someone one walk me through step by step on how i should format and set up my hard drive, then i can repeat the process for the other 3. Thanks for any help you can offer.

Edit: each drive is 4TB inside the enclosure.
