Is Android Studio easy to lea

Friends,

It has been a long time since I last did any programming at all, more than a decade to be precise. These days I come across so many young people, particularly high school kids, who are busy writing small Android apps in Java using one tool or other. I am not really sure as to which tool is the best choice for me, and I am looking for a free tool only. Is Android Studio easy to lea? Can I install and use it on Windows 7/10 to write small apps that can run on my Android based smartphone?

Have you written any apps for your smartphone? Please guide me.
