KDE 4 in Ubuntu 16.04?

I currently use Lubuntu 14.04 with a number of KDE 4 applications. In playing around with various flavors of Ubuntu 16.04 in VM, and trying to set it up sort of like I've got Lubuntu 14.04, I keep getting stuck on KDE 5. First tried adding KDE 5 apps in Lubuntu 16.04, but systemsettings was totally blank and Qt 5 styling wasn't working. So then tried Kubuntu 16.04 to see if that would solve those problems, and it did, but not only was plasma desktop crashing repeatedly, but I discovered that the ability to use custom formats for date/time was removed. Those are show-stoppers for me

Is it possible to just go with what I already know here and install KDE 4 in Ubuntu 16.04, if so how? (Or is there an equivalent of the Trinity desktop environment project but for KDE 4?)
