Dual boot Windows and Ubuntu on SSD but use storage HDD separately?

Hey there,

I haven't used Linux as a main OS for a few years now and I'd like to get back to it.
I'm tinkering with my Chromebook trying to get linux on it, but that's more of a side project.

My current main setup is I have Windows on an SSD and I use a hard drive for storage and such.

My question is, can I dual boot Windows and Ubuntu on the SSD but use the same HDD for storage without formatting it?

I've never had a two drive setup like this before so I'm not sure how to go about it.
