I play Europa Universalis IV via steam on my Ubuntu 15.10 machine with no issues. I use native the Steam/Linux version for solo play, but I need to play Steam/Europa with WINE when playing multiplayer when the other players use windows as their OS (or you experience (desync iussues).
Anyway, I upgraded my laptop (SPECS) which a different machine. I used Ubuntu 16.04... The install went smoothly. Native functionality works like a charm.
Here's the issue:
When launching Steam I get an error barking that "steamwebhelper.exe" failed. I assume it's a piece of software Steam uses for their store.... I click passed the error and launch the game. When the game loads... It changes my aspect ration to a square losing the 16:9. Everything is scrambled and I can't make out the game at all.
I've tried everything from the x.org driver to the proprietary drivers... It seems to have the same behavior.
I am ruing WINE in windows XP mode. I'm not seasoned in WINE...its just worked for me in the past.
Help! =)
