Gnome Software Will Not Shut Up!

My 50unattended-upgrades is set to auto-update everything so I don't need any reminder prompts about system updates, but Gnome Software keeps pestering me all the time before my system has had a chance to update itself, it's really aoying. I've removed all of the following files but it's relentless! How do you make it stop?

/etc/apt/apt.conf.d/99update-notifier
/etc/cron.daily/update-notifier-common
/etc/cron.weekly/update-notifier-common
/etc/xdg/autostart/update-notifier-common

Oh, and 'Software and Updates' is set to automatically check for updates *Never* so it can't be that.
