[xubuntu] Installing the same printer in windows and xubuntu

Hello everyone. First of all, sorry if this does not belong here but I did not find any other place to post it.

I want to dual-boot windows 7 and xubuntu (windows for gaming, xubuntu for working, surfing the inteet etc). I have a Canon MX470 series that I've shared (in windows) with my sister's pc, which uses windows 10 (although she's going back to windows 7 in a few days too). This way she can print things from her own PC by sending it to this one. My question is: can I share the same printer with Xubuntu as well in a way that my sister does not have to select "windows" or "linux" printer?

The idea would be that she only had one default option: Canon MX470 Series, and that it would not matter if I'm on windows or on Xubuntu. Is this possible?
