Caot get allcast to respond using remote desktop

Hey all

Well I've had a busy evening! First I figured out how to operate my windows 10 pc from my kubuntu laptop using rdesktop.

The reason I wanted to do this is because Ive ripped my movies from dvd to my windows machine ( My kubuntu 16.04 plays the dvd's but can't seem to get past the encryption to rip them) and want to cast them to my cheapo version of chromecast (allcast).

Now the allcast device works when I'm on my windows pc - it casts without problem. However if I operate my windows pc from my kubuntu laptop - I navigate to the desired movie, click 'cast to device' and get 'Device not responding'

Please could someone help me figure this one out? google has no answers that I can find.

I'm trying my hardest to get set up so I can be a professional couch potato when I get home from a proposed bypass op in a few weeks time. Getting this sorted would be cool!
