Windows Filezilla 3.17.01
Filezilla ftp and sftp download at 12 megabytes (96 megabits) per second no matter how many files I download. If I download 1 file then it downloads at 12 megabytes. 10 files download at about 1.2 megabytes each. Filezilla version is 3.17.01 but I also had the same speed with previous versions last year.
Ubuntu 16.04 64 bit Filezilla 3.15
-Filezilla sftp and regular ftp are limited to 800KB/s per file. If I download 10 files at once then I can get 8MB/s total. If I download only 1 file then download speed is stuck at 800KB/s (100% of the time no matter what seedbox I use).
-lftp does not have this issue. My speeds with sftp on lftp are the same as Windows, 12 megabytes per second no matter how many files. I used (pget filename) so I do not think I used segmented downloading.
-https downloads from the seedbox using Firefox and Chromium are the same speed as Windows (12MB/s no matter how many files)
-disabling UFW (firewall) does not help
Linux Mint 17.3 Filezilla 3.7.3
-Filezilla ftp/sftp speed same as Ubuntu (limit of 800KB/s per file)
-https downloads from the seedbox using Firefox and Chromium are the same speed as Windows (12MB/s no matter how many files)
Other info
-Seedboxes used are whatbox, seedhost.EU, and feral hosting. Changing boxes did not change ftp speeds on Windows or Linux. Rerouting on feralhosting also didn't change anything.
-motherboard is Asus H81 with Realtek RTL8111G LAN chipset
-I have a 200megabit fiber coection. I also switched ISP recently and speed did not change
-bypassing the router by coecting directly to the modem doesn't change speed
