drag and drop problem

Sorry, I'm late to the table with Unity and am going to figure that someone has seen and commented about this but the forum is so large I caot find the correct search terms.

I still have an Ubuntu 10.04 machine and one feature (if it can be called such) I am used to is that a file can be dragged and dropped from a web page displayed by Firefox into a Nautilus window where it is stored with the last file modification date.

I'm now working with a newer install and find the default behaviour is to create a link with the URL for the file in the file browser. I've also found that I can copy the file if I hold down the SHIFT key when I release the file. So close and yet so far. I've looked for a preference to change the default action from creating a link to copying the file but haven't found one yet. Might be I need a new prescription for my glasses but, honest, I've looked in the file browser preferences and don't find such an option.

Yes, there are going to be those who tell me I'm lazy for not wanting to press the shift key when copying a file but I keep thinking it should be a simple option to change it.
