[ubuntu] Wifi keeps cutting out.

So I know this has been said a few times although I have been through many many posts about this and nothing has quite fixed my problem so I thought I would make a post...if someone has got a link to a direct answer to this then please feel free to link it but yeah...I haven't had any luck so far after lots of trying.

So I recently switched to Linux as a development environment, not goa lie, kinda loving it haha. I started with Ubuntu 15.04 and the wifi would work for 5 minutes and then cut out and the only way to get it back would be to restart the machine. I noticed that version 15.10 was out so I upgraded to that and it kinda solved the problem in the way that the wifi still cut out but if and when it did i could just click on the wifi icon and then click on the access point and after a minute or so would sort itself out...I then upgraded to 16.04 about a week after its release in the hope that it might solve the problem but still no luck.

As I am a web developer I need a stable coection to the inteet and it will cut out several times during the work day...it is really frustrating especially if I am talking with a client or something showing them the website I have built for them and it appears not to work but its just my coection....that is just one example of why this is aoying.

My laptop is a hp pavilion...I could give you the specs but my guess is you would want wifi specific specs which I don't know how to retrieve so if anybody could help me with that that would be great too.

I assume that the problem is driver related but as I dont know how to find out exactly what my wifi device is I dont know what to search for to get a good driver although I have tried searching hp pavilion wifi device in google and found a few things driver related and tried a few things but nothing worked.

I know its not the router I am using or anything like that as I run windows on the same machine and never have any problems. Also I work in a co-working space and the coection is shared by many people, none of which are having the problem I am having.
