Hi.
Ive been dabbling with ubuntu and various other linux distros over the years but never used one full time before, lately the ssd i have my windows installation on has been failing, yesterday i had to remove it and whack ubuntu on an emptty partition of one of my hard drives
my computer has 4 drives, so far only 3 are showing in ubuntu, if i go to the Disks application i can see the 4th drive, but it lists the main partition on it as "Unknown"
ive tried using the fdisk command and for the drive in question this is what it retus
Disk /dev/sdc: 2.7 TiB, 3000592982016 bytes, 5860533168 sectors
Units: sectors of 1 * 512 = 512 bytes
Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 4096 bytes
I/O size (minimum/optimal): 4096 bytes / 4096 bytes
Disklabel type: gpt
Disk identifier: 470A6597-9E4D-466A-B96A-2ADEBA06EED6
Device Start End Sectors Size Type
/dev/sdc1 34 2081 2048 1M Microsoft LDM metadata
/dev/sdc2 2082 262177 260096 127M Microsoft reserved
/dev/sdc3 262178 5860533134 5860270957 2.7T Microsoft basic data
Partition 1 does not start on physical sector boundary.
Partition 2 does not start on physical sector boundary.
Partition 3 does not start on physical sector boundary.
Im thinking the "Partition does not start on physical sector boundary" is the problem but im not sure how to fix it
can someone please offer a little advice so i can get my data back?
Cheers
beba
