[ubuntu] 129GB SSD is detected as 21mb hdd without smart in bios

Hello, had an intenso 129gb ssd on a Windows computer that worked for only a year. After a restart the ssd is detected as 21mb ide hdd in the bios.

Switched that ssd with different cables to another computer with ubuntu same here. SMART is not supported says ubuntu.
Is this an unsolvable hardware issue? Is it possible that a virus cause this, the person that used that might run spam mail file ? I am afraid of buying a new sdd and loosing it again because of a controller/board/power issue.
I caot access any data.
