Ruing Ubuntu 14.04.4 on HP pavillion G6 lappie. No probs for yrs, today update manager stalled and this message shows
'E:Encountered a section with no Package: header, E
roblem with MergeList /var/lib/apt/lists/au.archive.ubuntu.com_ubuntu_dists_precise_main_bi nary-i386_Packages, E:The package lists or status file could not be parsed or opened.'
Any help much appreciated.
