Minecraft Stutters After Moving From Linux Mint..... :(

Hello, everyone.... I play Minecraft on Linux natively, using OpenJDK 8..... However, since moving from Mint (the latest one at the time of this posting)..... But after switching to Xubuntu, due to it's speed, Minecraft seems to stutter often enough..... : My Laptop is pretty new, and it's got 8GB of RAM..... Hardly small.... Anyway, why is this.....? I know it's *buntu specific, as with Mint, it worked just FINE..... : I mean, the Nether lagged on entry into it, but then was largely fine..... I'd hate to have to move back to Mint JUST to remedy this, and I'm still mostly a novice when it comes to Programming...... Does anyone know what the problem might be.....?
