Is there a notification center?

Ubuntu 16.04
Unity

Notifications like appointments, updates, mails etc pop up in the right hand coer from time to time. But nothing happens if I click on them.

If it notifies my updates are ready it's does not open software center etc.

So is there a place or like a notification center that i can view all of this or something like that?
