ath9k doesn't recover from suspend on 16.04

I just upgraded my Acer Aspire v5 from 14.04 to 16.04, and I've noticed that sometimes the wireless interface doesn't properly recover when I wake the laptop from suspend. The symptoms are that the network is not coected, and the list of available networks in Network Manager is missing all my networks, and most of my neighbors'. I am able to recover w/
sudo rmmod ath9k
sudo modprobe ath9k
