Qualcomm Atheros AR9485 wireless problems

Problem: This problem was also present in Ubuntu 14.04 but not to the degree I experience it in 15.10. My wireless coection drops and resets intermittently, and after a long period of time will cease detecting any wireless network. When the signal diminishes and continually resets, I have been disabling and then renabling wireless network and it works well for a bit. When it drops the wireless signals all together I have to restart the computer. There is sufficient wireless coverage, works fine in windows, my tablet and phone both coect to the network fine.. so the prob is not the network. I have tried a few workarounds, but nothing seems to address this specific issue. Any help is greatly appreciated.
