Duplicity (backup restore) not working, extract .gz files manually?

Hello, I have lost all my data but luckily have a backup. It's just that it isn't working! Duplicity says 'unknown error' when scaing the files, there is nothing wrong in the backtrace at all, it goes through all the files and that's it.

Is there a way I can extract them manually?

If not/alteatively, is there a way I can see my ubuntu software center installation history with the new software center? But I do really want these files regardless.
