PS3 Controller + Ubuntu 16.04

Is it possible to get a PS3 controller to work with Xubuntu 16.04, 64-bit?

I used to use MotionInjoy on Windows to work with my PS3 controller, although I used to use an unofficial controller for gaming/emulation on my Mac, before the R1 button decided to stop working on it, now I use Xubuntu and don't want to buy another controller.

Also I own about 8 PS3 controllers so we have enough and I'm not playing Super Street Fighter 2 or such without a controller, or any other game for that matter
