Hello, I'm currently a new user on Ubuntu Forums. Hopefully I can change my useame after reaching ten posts, but before doing so... I need some help.

I'm new to Linux, but not in technology terms so I'll try to make myself very brief.

Ubuntu 16.04 is having issues with my audio, (Line out) and switching it to headphones for a split-second, which then realizes there is no headphones... which later on falls back to regular Line out.

Audio cuts off, and this is a fresh install. Live CD/USB did the same thing, but thought it was related to third party drivers, but its not. I checked the contacts of the motherboard, and they're all clean. I also made sure the headphone/mic jack is clean, and they are.

My only assumption is either Ubuntu drivers are having issues, or my motherboard which is from a prebuilt pc (CM1855) is incompatible with linux or some sorts. Before 16.04, I tried different distros, each gave me random issues, one gave me keel crashes 24/7 and the other simply refused to install on my computer.

Hopefully, I could get some assistance since I'm quite stressed enough with Windows being a boring OS. I'm trying to explore my options, and ubuntu seems to be the most used/supported and liked in terms of usage. (Looking at you Unity, even though I like it)

Thanks!

(Excuse for the grammar, I was in a rush.)
