"Free" Desktops ~ Could be yours....

Okay. Free is in quotes because these old bad boys are going to cost you in shipping. I don't think they're worth it, personally, but for the hardcore tinkerers, I thought I'd offer them before they go to E-Recycling. I picked them up from a customer.

They are:

1 Dell Precision 530

This was the five thousand dollar monster of its day, multiple USB ports, Dual VGA ports, ports I don't even recognize (anymore), firewire, a whopping 512 on board memory spare PCI ports, etc... The chassis is the cadillac of its day. It opens on hinges and everything snaps into place. This came with Windows2000 but was "designed for XP Pro".

1 Compaq Pro Workstation AP200

This puppy came with XP Pro and Windows NT. It boasts a Pentium Three and I couldn't get as far as disceing its on board memory. Boasts a VGA and DVI port, two cramped USB ports, etc..

If you want to install Linux on these you're going to have to do a network install. No DVD-RW drives, just CD, and neither BIOS offers booting from USB media. For propriety's sake, I'll remove the hard drives.

So....

I'll ship these to you if you really want them. Payment up front (I've shipped to others on the forum before). Let me know before the upcoming week-end, or they go to the land fill.
