So, I have been dreaming of owning my first Mac PC and I finally bought a new, sealed in the box, mid-2015 Apple MacBook Pro 15" with Retina Display laptop and it's been dreamy. I leaed Apple Macintosh OS X 10.11.4 64 bit "El Capitan" quickly and I bought quite a bit of software apps to spruce it up and make it work for me. It's a really nice laptop to own and it's been utterly reliable with no problems whatsoever. I can install and use commercial software products once again too. Almost everything is tightly integrated and the key feature about OS X is that it is designed to work with the Apple hardware which means optimizations. It's an expensive ecosystem and platform, but I think it is well worth the high price. I got mine through a friend at a substantial discount off of the $1,999.99 USD MSRP. I paid $1,399.99 USD while giving my close friend an extra $100.00 USD for this unique opportunity. I can see why there are so many loyal Apple fans and especially of OS X now. It's just a well though out and engineered product that works almost flawlessly. It's designed for normal people to get work and some play done without obsessing about every single minor technical detail. I can get lots of productivity tasks done faster and simpler than my much more expensive and more powerful mid-2015 Zareason Zeto desktop PC system on my discounted Mac laptop.
I am waiting for Apple, Inc. to refresh their Mac Pro sometime in the future. If they do that, then I might purchase a new top of the line model and give away my Zareason Zeto desktop PC system to someone else. As much as I like Ubuntu 64 bit LTS GNU/Linux, Mac has it beat in my opinions if you are willing to pay the extraordinary high prices. Their stuff is wicked expensive, but their higher end products are solid. It's the most user friendly desktop and mobile operating system that I have had the pleasure of using. I think that I will be buying into their ecosystem and platforms gradually over time. Their products are a unique cachet and there's nothing else quite like it.
I am content and happy for now. I will wait until the 2016 Apple Worldwide Developer's Conference in mid-June 2016 and see if they refresh their top of the line Apple MacBook Pro 15" with Retina Display or Mac Pro lineup later this year. I might buy another Apple product later this year again. It would be in my own interest to check out Mac Mall since they are an authorized Apple, Inc. reseller and they have some decent discounts off of identical products sold directly from Apple, Inc. I might save some money by doing business with Mac Mall.
It's just an incredibly well put together laptop unlike the Microsoft Windows or GNU/Linux certified desktops and laptops that I used to own. It functions and feels like a polished product that just works most of the time. I am quite impressed if not stued to this day. It's only been a little under two weeks and I am smitten.
