Hello, I recently installed Lubuntu onto my laptop in an attempt to get more life out of my laptop. When I updated my OS to Windows 10, the laptop manufacturer decided not to support drivers for Windows 10, and I had to use AMD's driver, which caused a flickering on the screen. I decided to try Lubuntu instead, but when I installed the proprietary drivers, I still encountered the same problem. The normal display drivers work nicely for basic things, but then Steam can't play most games on it. (Steam also wouldn't boot without console commands, but that's a different issue) Is there basically nothing I can do but deal with the flickering?
Computer Details:
Acer Aspi-re 7551G-7606
| Processor: | 4x AMD Phenom(tm) II N970 Quad-Core Processor |
| Memory: | 8174MB (1160MB used) |
| Operating System: | Ubuntu 15.10 (Lubuntu) |
| Inteal Graphics card: | AMD Radeon HD6470M |
Extra details, I got my drivers here: http://support.amd.com/en-us/downloa...%2064&rev=15.9
But I have no idea what the differences between each of the drivers are, so I just picked the one on top.
Any help is appreciated! ![]()
