Trouble with transparency unit Epson Expression 11000XL

Having trouble with my Epson Expression 11000XL to my machine that is currently ruing on Ubuntu 15.10 x64

I installed the iscan-bundle-1.0.0.x64.deb and am ruing xsane, got it to work well.
Though after plugging in the transparency unit it comes with the message: 'Failed to start scaer: Error during device I/O' the red error light pops up on the scaer also.

The scaer is detected when the program starts though when (for example) preview button is selected, the error appears.

Drivers have been fully removed and reinstalled
Yet the scaer only works when the transparency unit is unplugged
