Converting binary to video files

Hi, I have an exteal HDD that has been registered to a Sony Bravia TV. I want to get access to the recordings and be able to watch them on a different TV, effectively giving me 2 tuners so I can record multiple things at once.

I can view the files on the hard drive when plugged into my laptop and I've found what I think is the recordings (due to their size). However they've been saved as binary files and they're too large for any of my text editors to open without crashing.

Does anyone know how you can convert binary files to video?

An example of one of the files is this:

0100000a.00

which is 842.2MB in size, and it has a corresponding file :

0100000a.tlt

which is 238.8kb in size.
