How to remove/update .NET in wine

I currently have/had .NET 4.0 installed, but a software I want to install requires .NET 4.5. Using "winetricks dotnet45" gives an error message: "error: dotnet45 conflicts with dotnet40, which is already installed." So, I uninstalled .NET 4.0 from wine's add/remove. However, the error remains. The Microsoft .NET folder also remains in the .wine folder.

I tried reinstalling and uninstalling .NET 4.0 but it still never seems to go away, and thus doesn't let me install .NET 4.5.

What am I missing?
