Lts16.05

So, usually I do a clean install of a new distro. I am using U 14.04.4LTS, so I could do an upgrade when the distro is final. Question, if I do an upgrade will it
leave my other desktops intact? I have Gnome and Mate for example as alteative desktops. If it does I am inclined to do the upgrade, and save all the work of
creating Mate again. Unity is fine, but for day to day use I find Mate much easier. I could just use mate 16.05 but I still like the options of Unity.
