[Elementary] Wifi Out of Range and or Drops Frequently

Hi,

I have recently switched to Elementary OS from Ubuntu to try, and ran into the same issue I've had with Ubuntu. The wifi works well when I'm close to the router, but will not work in another other room. I have a dual boot on the laptop with Windows. In addition, I also have a macbook. Wifi will work in both these OS with out a problem. But when I try to use Ubuntu/Elementary OS, it will drop. I've done some research, and online reading shows it may be a network driver issue. I've tried installing a network driver (Inter N-100 is my wifi chip I believe) and even tried changing the signal type to mixed B/G in my router settings. Any help is highly appreciated. The wifi appears sometimes when I disable/enable wifi, but it doesn't coect in that instance.
