16.04 b2 high cpu usage

I installed compizconfig to deal with window placement and my cpu usage went from 1% at idle to 12%. CPU frequency doesn't throttle back as far and CPU temperature is up. I removed compiz and still have the same issue. I'm not sure of the cause because the top CPU user is hud-service at 2% then compiz at 1% according to system monitor.

On a side note, i shouldn't have to install something to get my windows to open in the center of my desktop. I hate having windows open up pied to one side or another.

Edit: Opening Firefox jumped usage up to 25%. I closed Firefox after making this post and CPU usage settled in at 20%. Something is going on!
