Bluetooth battery power indicator on panel

While fixing an as yet still unfixed problem with wireless, an interesting feature popped up. When I coected my bluetooth keyboard, a little battery indicator would pop up on the panel. Unfortunately, it only had two settings, 58% and 0%, at which time it would automatically unpair. The keyboard, however, would be fully charged. I found out by killing the indicator the keyboard would work fine, and when I eventually fixed the majority of my problems by doing a keel upgrade(which didnt fix my problem with my Ralink wt7601 wireless so if anyone knows how please comment) it stopped paearing at all.

Now, if it worked, it would be a really great feature. I use my keyboard for a couple hours daily, and it only has two indicators, fully charged and about to die. I was wondering if this had been fiexd, and if anyone had got it to correctly report power statistics for the bluetooth device.
