Hi Guys,
New to the forum and fairly new to Linux. I've had my share with UNIX/Linux in the past but I'm not a real expert. I've googled this up and although I did find some useful information it doesn't appear to be exactly like my situation so I thought I'd post and see what some of you had to say.
So, long story short:
I just did a fresh install of Xubuntu 15.10 yesterday on my ASUS G53SW (ROG Series) Laptop and I've noticed something strange with the Keyboard Backlights. The FN+F3 and FN+F4 keys work, but when I log into a session or restart the PC the keyboard backlight brightness value never gets saved. Moreso, the LEDs are always off at boot up. The weird thing is that when I press either Brightness UP or DOWN it seems like the starting value on the little window is Maximum (3) even though it should be 0 in reality. Once I press Brightness UP or DOWN the leds tu on without any problem, but it's a fuss since I'd like them to be always on.
Has any of you successfully solved this issue? I saw someone else in the forums suggesting to use a script to enable a certain brightness value at each boot/log in, but it doesn't really sound like a permanent solution to me. I'd like to fix it for good.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.
